Pope of Hope: Leadership, with faith, hope, and love. Pope Francis was among the kindest, most loving, and faithful people. We all suffered a feeling of significant loss, for he shared the love of humanity with all of us. Pope Francis was humble, exercising God’s mercy, and a global leader. He empathized with the needs of the poor, refugees, and migrants. He was wise and focused on the marginalized, especially those needing the most kindness and understanding. A Pope of Hope, we pray, will carry out Pope Francis’s mission of inclusion, acceptance, empathy for the marginalized, disenfranchised, a global bridge builder of peace, no matter what religion with God there’s no division, love for Mother Earth and his love for humanity and our need to survive ourselves is greater and supersedes his position.
Not Big Shoes But a Big Heart: Pope Francis didn’t leave behind big shoes to fill, but a big heart of love he emptied for the world, now left behind to be filled with greater and even more love. Fortunately, God has blessed us with Pope Leo XIV, whom I have dubbed the Pope of Hope. Pope Leo served as Chiclayo’s Bishop in Peru from 2015 to 2023. He was made Cardinal by Pope Francis in 2023 and was placed in charge of Vetting Nominations for Cardinals worldwide. Maybe by Divine intervention, chosen to continue Pope Francis’s mission to remove division. For the world to love, with compassion for others, and evangelization. With a heartfelt focus on the poor, migrants, refugees, and Mother Earth’s environmental issues.
Papacy Made History: After 2000 years and two days of vigilantly waiting. The 150,000 faithful gathered at St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican. Blessed with beautiful blue skies and fair weather, witnessed the bellowing white smoke come out of the Vatican chimney. Hope filled the big blue with the big papacy decision. For the first time, an American-born Cardinal will carry out his predecessor’s mission. Pope Leo, of American-Peruvian descent, was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1955, as Robert Francis Prevost. After graduating from university, he joined the priesthood and spent decades as a missionary in Peru. At 69, he is the youngest elected pope from the Augustinian Religious order.
From the Americas to America: The Catholic faith has led us to this faithful moment in religious history. What was once taboo to elect an American Pope is now our Pope of Hope. To follow in the heart and footsteps of the Late Pope Francis. A global and hopeful Pope for the people of the world.
The Bible James 1:27: Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world”. God Himself responds to the cries of the poor and the needy who suffer the pains of injustice.”
Pope Leo XIV’s words: In acceptance, he first said, “Peace be with you. His words: “This is the peace of the risen Christ, peace that is discerning, humble, and persevering—it comes from God. God, who loves all of us without any limits and conditions. While we still have the sound in our ears, the weak voice of Pope Francis who was blessing Rome here, we have that fresh in our minds, in our hearts, in our ears, hearing his voice the Pope who was blessing Rome, giving his blessing to the world on that morning on that day of Easter Sunday. Allow me to continue that same blessing. God loves everyone, evil will not prevail, we are all in the hands of God. So, without fear, united hand in hand with God and among ourselves, we go forward, we are disciples of Christ. Christ goes before us, the world needs his light, humanity needs him, but as the bridge between God and his love, may we all build bridges with dialogue and encounter so that we can all be one people, all in peace. Thank you, Pope Francis, for all you’ve done.” (Full speech, click link above)
May God bless and protect America’s Pope Leo, successor to our people’s Pope Francis and now our Pope of Hope.
